Fashion for real and exuberant women

Many women suffer while trying to find a good pair of trousers, a nice shirt, a pair of shoes for a party or a sexy and comfortable brassiere. Fashion demands them to be skinny and to wear shoes size 6.

The world is attacked by obesity, famine and anorexia. However, human body is not a standard as fashion brands want us to believe. For instance, actress Anne Hataway (“The devil wears Prada”) declared a few days ago that she will not  ever be a size 0, since she loves food and she hates to be continuously upset due to dieting. On the other hand, actress Liv Tyler abandoned catwalks because instead of being given dresses made for her, she was told “you must fit in this”. Her sister Mia (on the left of the image), is almost identical to Liv excepting for her weight. Although, Mia models big or real sizes.

“When I took my first Communion, my shoes size was 41 (9/10). I couldn't find proper shoes. I remember that fact as the first of a long battle”, said an Argentinean woman called Silvina Pucchio (23) whose height is 1 m 82 cm. Silvina turned her crisis in an oportunity and now owns a shoes shop (“Cenicientas”/Cinderellas) where she offers shoes in size 45.

There is nothing more stressful than trying clothes on a tiny fitting room, almost naked, with a large mirror in front of you and fluorescent light. It is worse when you need to try on several pieces and the sales assistant just wants you to chose and to buy quickly. A wide fitting/changing room as well as trained sales assistants are essential. Not every woman knows what to wear and the sales assistants must be patient enough to offer at least 10 or 20 outfits.

Curvy and overweight women have the right of wearing sexy underwear. Alejandra Di Pacce –who owns a factory of underwear for real women located in Buenos Aires (Argentina)- believes that she does not produces special sizes because “they are totally normal”. In “Ale Di Pacce”, women can find bras from the size 90 to 120 and briefs until size 5. “Our size 3, for example, is not the regular one. It is designed for 130 cm hips”, explains Di Pacce. “Our clients are 20-55 years old and we believe that women have the right of looking sensual even having extra kilos or a wide back. Hence, we use high quality embroidery and fashionable colors”.
